§ 556.150 Chlortetracycline.
(a) Acceptable daily intake (ADI). The ADI for total residue of tetracyclines including chlortetracycline, oxytetracycline, and tetracycline is 25 µg/kg of body weight per day.
(b) Tolerances. The tolerances for the sum of tetracycline residues are:
(1) Cattle. (i) Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii) Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii) Muscle: 2 ppm.
(2) Chickens, turkeys, and ducks. (i) Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii) Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii) Muscle: 2 ppm.
(iv) Eggs: 0.4 ppm for chlortetracycline only.
(3) Sheep. (i) Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii) Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii) Muscle: 2 ppm.
(4) Swine. (i) Liver: 6 ppm.
(ii) Kidney and fat: 12 ppm.
(iii) Muscle: 2 ppm.
